House Rules
Thanks for booking The Getaway for your vacation! Please remember this is our personal family chalet and not a big business. Please respect our home and leave it as beautiful when you leave as when you arrive. If anything is not as expected please let us know right away! We want your stay to be amazing. We know, we know rules are no fun but we have the following to make sure everyone has a great time and that our home is safe! You would want the same :)
By renting our home you are agreeing to the following house rules:
1. Covid-19 We have sanitized and or cleaned the home, linens, spa prior to your arrival. We will also leave sanitizing products for your to use. Please do not come if you are feeling ill or suspect you could be sick. Let us know and we will try and reschedule your visit.
2. Pet policy – we love animals and allow for dogs up to 50lbs with prior approval, please message us. There is a $50 per dog per night fee. Any unapproved pets will be charged at $100 per pet per day. Please keep your dogs off the furniture (we do have a dog bed). Any pet waste not properly disposed of will be charged a fee of $25. Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate cats due to allergy issues.
3. The chalet is in the woods with critters, stairs, and weather. By booking this unit, you accept all responsibility and liability for keeping you, your guests, your children and your pets safe. In winter chains are required.
4. There is no smoking in the home of any kind whatsoever. If the house smells of any kind of smoke there will be a $500 charge for odor removal services.
5. Check-in is 4PM; Check-out is 11AM.
6. We offer a heated outdoor spa. The spa is cleaned and sanitized before every renter and ready when you arrive. The spa cannot be left at a high temperature during non-use (it will burn out the heater). When you arrive, you will want to open the cover, and turn up the heat to your desired temperature (100 degrees is recommended) and return the cover to the closed position so the spa can heat. It takes a few hours for the spa to heat up, so please do so early. Prior to departure, please return the temperature to 80 degrees. The spa has a cover (and a lift and store system). The cover needs to be on when not in use. Do not sit on the cover; they break easily. If you have any problems with the spa while you’re renting we have our “spa guy” available to you, though the spa is all new, works well and is easily programmed if you want them hotter or cooler, etc. Spa guy charges $20 per visit to adjust temperature etc. No glassware in the spa, we have plastic cups as well. Please be careful not to spill drinks or food into the spa. It costs $100.00 to dump, refill and adjust the chemicals if extraordinarily dirty, a cost we would need to pass on to you. PLEASE, no animals in the spa, no exceptions. Thanks!!
7. No parties at the house or guests outside of those who have registered as guests. This rule is strictly enforced and your deposit will be forfeit for any violations of this rule. If you would like an exception, please write to us. Exceptions are only allowed with written permission from us. If for some reason security has to come we will charge per guest over the 10 person limit. These are city rules and we have to be respectful of our neighbors, some of whom live here full time.
8 .No more than 10 people are allowed at the cabin by city ordinance. This is a home and it is not meant as an event venue. – see above for fees.
9. Please do not move the furniture or pool table.
10. Please report any damage immediately.
11. If you use the small appliances or cookware, please clean them before putting them away. We do not want to grow any new pets in there.
12. Please keep any outside noise to manageable levels – respecting the neighbors’ privacy and right to sleep. Please no outside noise after 10pm. If we receive complaints we will try and contact you by phone to remedy the situation, if we need to send a representative in person there is a fee of $200.
13. Please do not leave the doors open with the heat running. You have control of the heat up to 72 degrees. Keep in mind upstairs typically gets about 10 degrees warmer.
14. For your convenience we have gas fireplace. Prior to lighting the fire you must open the flue; there is a lever above the fire logs that needs to be pulled towards you to open with the fireplace poker. Do not place anything into the fire or try and rearrange the logs. When you are done, please close the flue by push the lever in with the fireplace poker.
15. All trash must be removed from cabin and taken to the clean bear site. This is by city ordinance and not our rules. The addresses are in our guide.
Please do not feed the wildlife. Please do not leave trash outside. It will be scattered the next morning all over the place.
16. Maximum 4 cars and 10 people strictly enforced by the city of Big Bear.
17. Big Bear Lake Short Term Rental code requires, guests to provide a clear picture on their profile and their real name. Guests booking the cabin must provide valid ID upon check in matching their Aribnb profile. No exceptions. Strictly enforced.
18. A digital smart door lock and a video doorbell have been added to the front exterior entry for your ease of check in and protection.
19. Primary renter/guest must be 21 years of age or older. Primary renter/guest is defined as the person reserving and paying for the security deposit/rental fees and is responsible for all guests staying at the property during their stay.
20. You, the guest, is financially responsible for any damage done to the home during your stay. If you notice any damage or anything out of the ordinary, please contact us within 1 hour of your arrival. Please make sure to check to see if you have heat, electricity, hot water and the hot tub is working upon arrival.
21. There is a written inventory in the home. We want to make sure its well stocked for you. If you notice anything missing let us know right away.
