House Rules

Thanks for booking The Getaway for your vacation! Please remember this is our personal family vacation home and not a big business. Please respect our home and leave it as beautiful when you leave as when you arrive. If anything is not as expected please let us know right away! We want your stay to be amazing. We know, we know rules are no fun but we have the following to make sure everyone has a great time and that our home is safe! You would want the same :) By renting our home you are agreeing to the following house rules:

1. Covid-19 We have sanitized and or cleaned the home, linens, spa prior to your arrival. We will also leave sanitizing products for your to use. Please do not come if you are feeling ill or suspect you could be sick. Let us know and we will try and reschedule your visit.
2. Good Neighbor Policy - All guests must comply with the County of Riverside transient rental rules and restrictions. A Good Neighbor brochure will be provided to all guests and is also posted inside the home for your reference. It is the responsibility of the principal booking guest to ensure that all guests on your reservation are familiar with and obey the outlined rules. All rules, including but not limited to, nuisance and noise restrictions, quiet hours, maximum occupancy (9 guests), parking, trash, etc., are strictly enforced by the city and county. Booking guests will be responsible for any citations and fines resulting from violations. Complaints and violations may result in immediate eviction without refund to the guest.
3. Pet policy – we love animals and allow for dogs up to 50lbs with prior approval, please message us. There is a $50 per dog per night fee. Any unauthorized pets will be charged at $100 per pet per day. Please keep your dogs off the furniture (we do have a dog bed). Any pet waste not properly disposed of will be charged a fee of $25. Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate cats due to allergy issues.
4. Our home is in the desert. That means there are critters, bugs and sometimes very hot weather. By booking this unit, you accept all responsibility and liability for keeping you, your guests, your children and your pets safe.
5. There is no smoking in the home of any kind whatsoever. If the house smells of any kind of smoke there will be a $500 charge for odor removal services.
6. Check-in is 4PM; Check-out is 11AM.
7. There is a strict community rule of no parties or amplified sounds that can be heard beyond the property line. This rule is strictly enforced and your deposit will be forfeit for any violations of this rule. If you would like an exception, please write to us. Exceptions are only allowed with written permission from us. If for some reason security has to come we will charge per guest over the 9 person limit. These are city rules and we have to be respectful of our neighbors, many of whom live here full time.
8. Please report any damage immediately.
9. Please keep any outside noise to manageable levels – respecting the neighbors’ privacy and right to sleep. Quiet hours are 10pm to 7am (County Ordinance No 927). If we receive complaints we will try to contact you by phone to remedy the situation, if we need to send a representative in person there is a fee of $200. If the code enforcement gets there before we reach you they will fine you and can possibly evict you.
10. Please do not leave the doors open with the air conditioning running.
11. For your convenience we have a gas fireplace. Do not place anything into the fire.
12. All trash must be bagged and placed in the bin. Our trash is picked up on Fridays.
13. Maximum 4 cars and 9 people strictly enforced by the County of Riverside.
14. Short Term Rental code requires guests to provide a copy of a valid government ID as well as an address for the primary renter.
15. A digital smart door lock and a video doorbell have been added to the front exterior entry for your ease of check in and protection. There is also a noise monitoring device installed within the home.
16. Primary renter/guest must be 21 years of age or older. Primary renter/guest is defined as the person reserving and paying for the security deposit/rental fees and is responsible for all guests staying at the property during their stay.
17. You, the guest, is financially responsible for any damage done to the home during your stay. If you notice any damage or anything out of the ordinary, please contact us within 1 hour of your arrival.
18. There is a written inventory in the home. We want to make sure it's well stocked for you. If you notice anything missing let us know right away. Our team takes an inventory and checks that everything works between each guest. If there are items missing we will assume you wanted to purchase them at the going rate so that we can replace them for the next guests.
19. Pool and Spa Safety - You are taking full responsibility to use the pool and spa. Never leave children or child-like adults unattended. We have a child safety gate that can be installed for a small fee. Please let us know when booking if you need this installed.
20. Heated Pool - Pool can be Heated for a $75 fee per day. This is recommended October - May. Please let us know in advance.
21. Our pool cleaner or gardener may need to access the property during your stay, they will only access the exterior and we will notify you ahead if they are scheduled to come during your stay.

The space
The design is quintessential Palm Spring kitsch. We feature retro finds mixed with eclectic fun. My goal in designing this home was to make the guests smile when they enter each space. Retro features include working record player, foosball and Pac-Man game. An insta moment at every turn.

Guest interaction
My husband and I are available 24/7 for needs but will not hassle you. We will send you all of the information you need before your stay and leave a printed guide in the home that contains instructions for anything that may be tricky and suggestions for our favorite bites and adventures. Check in is keyless. Our cleaning team and maintenance team are amazing but From time to time things come up and if something is not working or missing we try to have it fixed or replaced within a few hours. Our pool will be cleaned on Tuesday and Thursday mornings as well as landscaping on Friday mornings. . Our landscaper puts trash out on Friday mornings. These team mates will not disturb you but will enter the property through a side gate to keep everything perfect for your stay.
Neighborhood overview
Bermuda Dunes is a secret gem in the desert, close to everything. You are a ten minute drive to Palm Desert, Indian Wells Tennis, La Quinta, Rancho Mirage, The Coachella Polo field Grounds and about 20 minutes to Downtown Palms Springs. We are close to several casinos, museums, the Living Desert, and so much great food!
Getting around
The desert is a driving town. Not much traffic and easy to park everywhere- except for during the festivals in which case you can Uber to the fair grounds. You can also bike, horseback and use a golf cart to get around! We can park two cars in the driveway and two on the street.
